Advanced Concrete Durability Under Extreme Conditions

This research investigates the durability and mechanical performance of concrete under extreme environmental and loading conditions. The work combines advanced concrete mix design with experimental testing to evaluate how elevated temperatures and mechanical loading influence strength, stress–strain behavior, deformation, and surface spalling. Concrete specimens with different mix designs are exposed to temperatures ranging from ambient to elevated conditions and subsequently subjected to controlled compressive loading. Experimental measurements are used to characterize changes in mechanical response and identify temperature-dependent damage mechanisms. The research aims to improve understanding of concrete behavior under extreme conditions and support the development of more durable, resilient, and safer concrete infrastructure, including structures exposed to thermal hazards, impact, seismic loading, and other demanding service environments.
