Climate Adaptation for Infrastructure

This research investigates the impacts of climate-driven environmental conditions and extreme events on civil and geotechnical infrastructure. The work integrates experimental studies and multiphysics modeling to understand how changes in temperature, precipitation, moisture, and soil conditions affect the long-term performance of infrastructure materials, unsaturated soils, slopes, and foundation systems. Particular emphasis is placed on coupled thermal–hydraulic–mechanical processes, soil–atmosphere interactions, slope stability, and climate-induced geotechnical hazards, including landslides. The goal is to develop predictive tools and engineering strategies that enhance infrastructure resilience, safety, and adaptability under changing and extreme environmental conditions.
